Family Affair As Lindo’s Eye Netball Title
[Written by Stephen Wright]
It has been a family affair at Lindo’s Tigers, where twin sisters Jahkenya and Jahtuere Trott, along with their younger sister Zariah Amory, have played a crucial role in driving the team to the top of the Bermuda Netball Association Winter League standings.
Lindo’s, unbeaten in all eleven matches this season, are gearing up for a decisive title clash against second-place Storm at Bernard Park on Saturday [March 8].
With the championship within reach, Jahkenya has highlighted the team’s unwavering dedication and focus throughout the season, expressing confidence in their ability to remain undefeated.
“We’re not taking anything for granted, but hopefully we have the title in the bag,” she told Bernews.
“If we win, we’re guaranteed the title, which would be a huge achievement. We just need to play our game, get our nerves out, and do what we need to do.”

Jahtuere and Jahkenya first made their mark with the North Village Lady Rams youth team before catching the eye of Lindo’s coach Anthony Mouchette, who promptly recruited them for the senior side.
The twins, now 31, continue to be key players for Lindo’s, with their 25-year-old sister Zariah joining them in the line-up.
“We butt heads sometimes,” admitted Jahkenya, who plays as a goal shooter. “But it’s fun to play in the same team as my sisters.”
Jahtuere, the team captain, reflected on the rewarding journey she has shared with her sisters and team-mates as they aim to dethrone Phoenix Heat, the reigning champions for more than a decade.
“Zariah has always looked up to us as her older siblings and wanted to play as soon as she started watching us,” the goal attack said.
“It’s wild having three sisters on the same team. We hold her accountable a lot!
“The whole team has been playing together for many years, but we’ve really started to gel, and that’s been reflected in our results on the court.
“To win the title by finishing the season undefeated would be the cherry on top.”
With Storm having suffered just one loss this campaign – against Lindo’s – the upcoming match is expected to be an intense title battle.
“It’s going to be an exciting game,” Jahtuere said. “If we lose, the title will go down to goal difference. Hopefully, this will be our season.
“I believe in my team, and we just need to pull through and finish the season strongly.”
