BUEI To Feature Frogfish At Kids Hour Event
The mystifying Frog Fish will be the focus for The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute’s [BUEI] ‘Kids Hour Saturdays’ on June 15th.
A spokesperson said, “Kids Hours Saturdays’ [KHS] takes place every third Saturday of the month at 11am and 2pm respectively. Each hour features the screening of short films followed by a book reading for children aged 5-12 years.
“The film for this month’s Kids Hour, ‘Monster Frogfish Found!’ [2017], is a fifteen-minute episode from Beyond the Tide that explores these wonderfully weird sea creatures. The audience joins hosts, Coyote and Mark, on a scuba diving trip in Hawaii where they find two monstrous Frogfish, also known as anglerfish. This episode of the series will beautifully introduce one of the world’s most interesting aquatic creatures to our young audience.
“The book for this month’s Kids Hour comes from National Geographic Kids: ‘Weird Sea Creatures’ by Laura Marsh. This book allows readers to explore the deep while getting up close and personal with one of the ocean’s weirdest wonders. Using easy-to-grasp language and brilliantly detailed illustrations, ‘Weird Sea Creatures’ will keep children intrigued and learning on every page.
“Kids Hour Saturdays are free for members [Single Parent through Adventurer Tier] and all care givers, and $4 per child for non-members. Please note, caregivers must stay on site for the hour. Admission to the Ocean Discovery Centre at BUEI is also included.
“Mark your calendars for a subsequent selection of Kids Hour Saturdays taking place on Saturday, July 20th where the focus is on Whale Sharks!
“Space is limited and advance registration is encouraged. To register for BUEI’s ‘Kids Hour Saturdays’, please email giftshop@buei.bm or call 294-0204.”
