Global Artists Invited For Solstice Painting
The Bermuda Plein Air Group is inviting artists globally to paint and share their interpretations of the summer solstice tomorrow [June 20].
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Plein Air Group is inviting not only local plein air artists, but those from around the world to capture the summer solstice on canvas and share it.
“Over the years, the Bermuda Plein Air Group has welcomed many overseas visitors that join the group on a Sunday morning and capture the location being painted that day. This is a way of bringing us all together for a somewhat special occasion, even if we can’t be together physically.
“A social media post has been put out stating the simple rules. Paint anywhere you like that evening, and then send a photo of your painting. Take the photo of the painting on your easel with where you are painting as a background.
“You are welcome to send a short blurb of your painting, why you chose the area, what is special, what was going on, etc.
“The deadline for photos to be emailed is 8.00pm Atlantic Time to bermudaartscentre@gmail.com.”
