Khano Smith’s Rhode Island Defeat Indy
Khano Smith’s Rhode Island won their first-ever home match after beating El Paso Locomotive 3-0 in the USL Championship yesterday [June 26].
Rhode Island, who stunned league leaders Louisville City 5-2 last weekend, took the lead in the 21st minute through Albert Dikwa.
Jojea Kwizera doubled the lead in the 27th minute before Noah Fuson completed the scoring in the 91st minute.
Smith, a former Bermuda and New England Revolution winger, was appointed as head coach and general manager of Rhode Island in March last year.
Rhode Island, unbeaten in three games, are at home to Indy Eleven in the league on Friday [July 5].
