The Paul Lepercq Memorial Traditional Karate Tournament was held this weekend.

A spokesperson said, “The Paul Lepercq Memorial Traditional Karate Tournament concluded with spectacular displays of skill and determination from Bermuda’s finest martial artists. Held at the Whitney Institute, this prestigious event showcased athletes across various divisions, culminating in an exciting showdown that highlighted the depth of talent in Bermuda’s karate community.

“In a thrilling display of martial arts prowess, Toni Cabral emerged as the overall winner, clinching the coveted Paul Lepercq Memorial Cup in the Blackbelt kata Combine division. Cabral’s precision and technique were on full display, earning him the admiration of spectators and competitors alike.

“Another standout performance came from Michael Tristan Burgess of Shorikan Dojo, who engaged in a heated kumite battle in the Under 19 Advanced Male division. Burgess’s tenacity and skill were evident as he secured victory over his formidable opponent, Khwai Mendoza, in a closely contested match.
