The Berkeley Institute recently held its Long Service Awards, honoring 18 staff members for their service from 5 to 40 years.
A spokesperson said, “To the Super Stars that Make Work Super! On Friday, June 7th, The Berkeley Institute celebrated their staff at its annual Long Service Awards Ceremony. There were 18 staff honoured, with tenures of service ranging from 5 years to 40 years.
“Special recognition was given to Mrs. Sandra Burrows for 40 years of service to The Berkeley Institute. Her service has ranged from the classroom, to administration as a Deputy Principal, and back to the classroom, supporting nearly three generations of Berkeleyites.”
Principal Keisha Douglas said, “We salute all of our Long Service Awardees and thank you for your continued contribution to providing quality education to Bermuda’s young people at The Berkeley Institute. Each of these awardees has demonstrated unwavering dedication, resilience, and a profound commitment to the education and well-being of our students. Their long-standing service is a testament of their belief in the power of education, their love for students and their loyalty to The Berkeley Institute. Kudos and congratulations!”
Chairman of the Board of Governors Craig Bridgewater shared, “Being involved in the provision of education is a vocation…a true calling. It not only takes education and training but true passion, commitment and resilience. This cannot be bought or measured by money but measured by the level of sincerity and integrity in your contribution, your loyalty, your diligence and your ability to adapt to shifting eras, to each student, and to each environmental circumstance. Every idea you shared, every opportunity you seized, and every contribution you made over the years has contributed to the success and legacy of The Berkeley Institute.
“Congratulations on your career anniversary with Berkeley, thank you for being such a valuable member of our team, and all the best as you push towards the next milestone. We are pleased to honour your achievements.”
