Ms. Julie Rousseau, Head of School, said, “We are delighted to share the news of his appointment with the Bermuda community. Mr. Cann’s experience combined with his knowledge of our facilities makes him very well prepared for the increased responsibilities of this leadership role. The same attributes that made him a star cricketer in Bermuda for many years — commitment, dedication, and can-do attitude — are the same that make him shine at Saltus.”

The spokesperson said, “Lionel Cann’s career in cricket spanned 35 years and he is one of only five players to score more than 1,000 runs in Cup Match — 1,199 from 40 innings with a highest score of 104. He enjoyed long careers in both the Eastern Counties and Cup Match and represented his country in the World Cup in the West Indies in 2007 after being a part of the team that qualified in Ireland in 2005.”
