Single Lane Closure On South Road Westbound
The Ministry of Public Works advised “that there will be a single- lane closure on the South Road westbound lane starting from the Paget traffic light to allow for the demolition and reconstruction of a wall section along the sidewalk.”
A Government spokesperson said, “The lane closure will divert westbound traffic onto Middle Road with an option to turn onto St. Paul’s Lane to continue westbound onto South Road. The Paget traffic light will be operational, with only traffic heading in the eastbound direction allowed to traverse down South Road at this junction. No parking will be permitted on St. Paul’s Lane to allow for the buses to pass through safely.
“The lane closure will commence on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, and will continue through Sunday, August 11th, 2024.
“Working hours will be daily from 7:30 am through to 5:00 pm.
“Traffic control will be under the direction of the Bermuda Police Service and Brown and Co Limited representatives with road barricades, stop-and-go signs, and cones.
“Westbound motorists, trucks and buses are advised to follow directional signs leading to St. Paul’s Lane and South Road. Bikes and cars are able to bypass the Paget traffic light junction via a detour route through White Sand’s Road and the Railway Trail to enter South Road near Missions Road. This Railway Trail detour route will be a one-way westbound route for all motorists and residents in that area.
“The Ministry of Public Works encourages the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologises for any inconvenience that may result.
“If you have any questions about these works, please direct them to Mr. Mark Brown at #297- 5521.”
