Scott Barnes Eyeing Podiums In Cincinnati

Karting driver Scott Barnes will look to return to top form when he races in the third round of the Stars Championship Series, the Clash at the Club, in Cincinnati, Ohio, this weekend.
Barnes, who competes in the Shifter Masters and ROK classes, knows he needs some impressive displays at the Motorsports Country Club to remain on track for podium glory.
The 39-year-old made a superb start to round one in Charlotte, North Carolina, in April, but suffered misfortune in the second round in New Castle, Indiana, last month with a mechanical issue and a team disqualification.
“I’m looking to bounce back and get some podiums,” Barnes told Bernews.
“The goal is always to go out there and win. I’ve three heat races and a final, and the goal is to finish in the top three in each one.
“I need four solid top threes to rebound nicely from the second round.”
Barnes, who races for Team Maranello USA, added: “This is the most I’ve competed overseas in a calendar year for quite a while. I’m feeling pretty comfortable heading into this weekend.”
The Stars Championship Series continues with the fourth and final round, Night Fight, at the Trackhouse Motorplex in Mooresville, North Carolina, from September 12 to 14.
