Bermuda athletes Dara Alizadeh, Emma Harvey and Jack Harvey have shared a glimpse into life inside the Olympic Village, including sharing pins with other countries, sleeping on the cardboard beds, the canteen food and more.

Swimmer Emma Harvey told Bernews that it has been “really amazing” and you “just kind of soak up the atmosphere,” while her brother Jack said, “The Village has been awesome, we’ve got our Bermuda apartments and the infamous carboard beds, which I don’t think are too bad.”

“It has been awesome hanging out with Team Bermuda,” he said. ” I couldn’t be happier to be here, it’s everything I hoped and dreamed of.”

Alizadeh has spoken about how the “pin trade” in the Olympic Village in Paris is bringing athletes closer together.

Alizadeh, who competes in the men’s single skulls, told Bernews: “It’s so exciting to be here. It’s such a vibe – it gets busier with athletes every day.

The two-time Olympian added: “We all have these little [Bermuda] pins and all the other counties want to swap.

“What’s really cool is Team Bermuda has a pin that’s really valuable. We have a team of eight whereas some of these teams are really massive.

“The Bermuda pins are a hot commodity!”
