BCHC To Host Volunteer Orientation In September

Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre invites members of the community to attend an upcoming Volunteer Orientation on Wednesday, 18th September, at 5:30 pm.

A spokesperson said, “This event will be held at the Centre’s main facility and is open to both new and returning volunteers who are eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by cancer and other chronic illnesses.

“Volunteering at Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre is more than just offering your time; it’s about becoming a part of a compassionate and supportive community. Volunteers play a crucial role in enhancing the Centre’s ability to provide exceptional care and services, from patient support and administrative tasks to community outreach and event assistance.”

Maria McLeod-Smith, the Volunteer and Fundraising Manager at Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, shared her thoughts on the importance of volunteering, “Volunteering is more than just helping out—it’s about connecting with others, spreading hope, and making Bermuda a better, healthier place.”

She added, “We’re really looking forward to welcoming both new and returning volunteers to our orientation and showing them how much of an impact they can have.”

The spokesperson said, “The Volunteer Orientation will offer attendees an overview of the Centre’s mission, the various volunteer roles available, and the impact that its service has on the community. It will also provide an opportunity to ask questions and learn how to get involved.
