Bermuda Volleyballers Start Competing In St Kitt’s
Teams from eleven islands — including Bermuda — began competing in the 2024 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association [ECVA] Under 21 Beach Volleyball Championships in St. Kitts & Nevis.
Bermuda’s under 21 women’s team of Isabella Sousa and Hailey Trott ended day one with two wins in pool A.
Sousa and Trott defeated Natalia Drayton and Karissa Scatliffe from the British Virgin Islands 2 – 0 by a score of 21-10, 21-16. Sousa and Trott then defeated Lavesha Richardson and Deandra Fleming also from the British Virgin Islands 2 – 0 by a score of 21-8, 21-17.
Bermuda’s under 21 men’s team of Riley Morbey and Marcus Rodrigues lost both their matches on day one in pool B. Morbey and Rodrigues went down 2 – 0 to Bill Frederick and Mervin Mingo from Dominica 21-18, 21-14 and then lost 2 – 1 to Jedediah Pencheon and Komarr Fraites from St. Kitt’s & Nevis by a score of 26-24, 19-21, 15-7.
