Photos & Video: OBA Hosts Party Conference
[Updated] The One Bermuda Alliance [OBA] is holding their 2024 Party Conference and you can tune in and watch below.
The OBA said the conference will provide information on “the OBA’s comprehensive platform for Bermuda’s future” and “this public presentation will outline our vision, goals and the steps we’ll take to achieve a stronger Bermuda.”

Update: “That’s it?” that was the response of PLP Deputy Leader the Hon. Walter Roban to the “OBA’s eight-page pamphlet on Bermuda’s future.”
“If a student turned in an 8 page pamphlet to address all of Bermuda’s needs, they’d get an F. It’s clear the OBA hasn’t really taken the time to think about how to build a better and fairer Bermuda,” Deputy Roban stated.
“What is included in this little missive is less important than what’s alluded to. Let’s look under the hood.
“On page 5 which is their one page plan for the entire healthcare industry of Bermuda, the OBA writes that ‘…costs can be reduced by spreading them over a larger population base.’ This is before the OBA said that they will be ‘revitalising the local market through immigration
reform” on page 6.’
“What does this mean?” asked Deputy Leader Roban. “The OBA seems to be alluding to something but they’re afraid to tell the Bermudian people!
“We all remember what happened last time the OBA was in office. Pathways to Status. Thousands of us had to take to the streets to protest to stop this legislation that would have redefined what it means to be Bermudian and made us second class citizens in our own
country.
“The OBA talks about integrity. If they really mean it, then, they’ll come clean and tell us what they mean by “immigration reform” and what they mean by a ‘larger population base.’ If you’re concerned over glass ceilings for Bermudians at the workplace, expect more of it once the OBA opens the immigration floodgates. Just wait until the OBA fundamentally changes our island home and makes you a second class citizen in your own country.
“Do you not believe that it can happen? Look at the Cayman Islands. Born Caymanians are now a minority in their own country and Caymanians are priced out of the local economy.
“Jarion Richardson made it clear what he is really about tonight: the same old UBP/OBA agenda. He offered a lack of detail and, lots of allusion to what the OBA’s real plans are – be warned,” Deputy Leader Roban concluded.

The candidates on stage were mostly all black but the entire audience was white. Doesn’t look good OBA and anyone who says different is selling you the next ice bridge.
You clearly were not present. The audience was well represented from all races and cultures.
You keep pretending for the clowns when everyone knows the truth.
The oba will lose the bye-election on October 4th and the General Election in 2025. Lets see you WHITE WASH those results.
Why is the non-diverse support base a PLP not a problem to you?
Why is a white political party always using black candidates as muppets?…… Tricking voters into believing the party is diverse isn’t working anymore.
You might want to ask Sir John Swan why he’s running against you first.
If all the people on stage are black and the audience is white at an OBA event is it better that at a PLP event everyone on the stage and in the audience is black ?
Diversity only means less to no white people for them.
