Mallory & Phillips Match Up In College Meet
Trey Mallory and his UNC Wilmington men’s teammates are matching up against Daniel Phillips and his Arizona State teammates, as well as Georgia Tech at the Southern intercollegiate championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
Joseph Waynard and Alex de Gabriele topped ASU’s Constantinos Koshis and Phillips, 6-4, while Mallory and Lukas Steffen ran past Georgia Tech’s Christophe Clement and Owen DeMuth, 6-1. Phillips and Koshis also went down 6-2 to Marko Mesarovic and Viktor Markov from Clemson.
Mallory owned UNCW’s lone singles win on the day, defeating Brian Capalnean from Georgia State 6-2, 6-3.
During the second day of action, in doubles play, Mallory and Lukas Steffan won back to back doubles, they defeated Christophe Clement and Owen DeMuth from Georgia Tech 6-1 and then defeated Parker Jacques and Parker Mariencheck from Georgia Tech 6-3.
Phillips and Constantinos Koshis went down to Marko Mesarovic and Viktor Markov from Clemson 6-2.
In Singles, Mallory went down 6-1, 6-1 to Stewart Aronson from Clemson, while Phillips lost 6-3, 6-0 to Brian Capalnean from Georgia State.
