MS Nautica Cruise Ship Visits Island
The MS Nautica cruise ship arrived in Bermuda on Saturday [Sept 14] and a ceremonial welcome reception and plaque exchange was held.
A Government spokesperson said, “The MS Nautica arrived in Bermuda on Saturday, September 14, with 626 passengers on its inaugural voyage. It was scheduled to dock in St. George’s first, followed by Hamilton, but due to inclement weather changes, the ship headed to Hamilton.
“The vessel is operated by Oceania Cruises, the luxury brand owned by Norwegian Cruise Line. The MS Nautica sailed from Boston via Newport and is making two scheduled calls this season, following the same itinerary. The Nautica will return to Bermuda on Saturday, September 21.
“A ceremonial welcome reception and plaque exchange was held and attended by the Minister of Transport, Hon. Wayne Furbert JP, MP, Rene Ming, MP, City of Hamilton – Bda Acting Mayor Denis Tucker, Town of St. George Mayor Quinell Francis, President & CEO of Meyer Group of Companies, Cheryle Hayward-Chew, Harbour Master, David Simmons, Pilot Warden Mario Thompson, and Stacey Evans from the Ministry of Transport.”
