Mapping Black London — which is led by Northeastern University and aims to “visualise the multi-racial foundations and histories of London and the UK” — has created an interactive map chronicling the life of Bermudian Mary Prince.

The organization said, “This exhibit traces the life of Mary Prince through the locations she described in her narrative, The History of Mary Prince [1831). Her book offers a firsthand account of her harrowing experiences as an enslaved person, capturing the brutality and inhumanity of enslavement. Through this exhibit, visitors can follow Prince’s journey from her birthplace in Bermuda to the various places she lived and worked, ultimately leading to her involvement with the Anti-Slavery Society in London. Explore these places and many more in the interactive map to walk in Prince’s steps.”
