Photos & Video: Princess Halloween Display
A hauntingly creative Halloween display, crafted by chef Ernie Ogalesco, is on display at the Hamilton Princess.
Mr Ogalesco, known for his artistic flair and culinary expertise, first envisioned the display digitally, sketching out intricate designs on his computer before sharing them with the hotel’s executive chef and management for approval.
The elaborate set-up was a team effort, with Anthony Sousa and Tameya Davis joining Mr Ogalesco to bring the vision to life.
Once finalised, Mr Ogalesco provided a detailed list of supplies, which were specially shipped to the island to ensure the display’s unique look.
Each pumpkin within the display was hand-carved by Mr Ogalesco, who meticulously followed his original designs to create a variety of spooky expressions.
To keep the display fresh and avoid attracting fruit flies, he replaces the pumpkins with newly carved ones every two days.
“I’ve carved about 20 medium-sized pumpkins so far, but by the end, there will be around 50 pieces in total,” Mr Ogalesco told Bernews.
Despite the extra workload, Mr Ogalesco’s passion for the project shines through. “This is extra work for me,” he said, “but I love it!”
