Bermuda Defeated By Barbados In Opener
The Bermuda men’s national rugby team lost 19-7 to Barbados in their opening match of the Rugby Americas North [RAN] Sevens in Arima, Trinidad, yesterday [November 22].
Barbados struck first, as the livewire Jeremy Nelson touched down in the corner.
The Bajans extended their lead when Jaden Howell cut through Bermuda’s defence to score, and the successful conversion stretched their lead to 12-0.
Hadleigh Tucker scored Bermuda’s first try then added the extra points with a conversion, narrowing the deficit to 12-7.
However, Howell scored his second try for Barbados, which was converted to make it 19-7.
