Bermuda Is Love Clothing Giveaway On Dec 14
Bermuda Is Love will host a Free Clothing Giveaway this Saturday, December 14, at Elliot Primary School from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
A spokesperson said, “The event will provide free clothing for all ages, genders, sizes, and occasions, aiming to assist the community while promoting sustainable fashion practices.
“The Free Clothing Giveaway serves three main purposes:
- Providing Free Clothing: Ensuring individuals and families have access to clothing, a basic human need.
- Reducing Fast-Fashion Impact: Combating the environmental harm caused by the fast-fashion industry.
- Advocating for the Human Right to Clothing: Highlighting the importance of clothing for health, safety, dignity, and self-expression.
“The fast-fashion industry is the second-largest polluter globally, contributing 10% of worldwide emissions and fueling climate change. It promotes a “throw-away” culture due to the cheap, disposable nature of its products, leading to environmental and social harm.
“Bermuda Is Love calls on the public to adopt sustainable clothing habits:
- Buy less and choose ethical, sustainable options.
- Shop second-hand and up-cycle clothing.
- Donate unused clothing.
- Treat garments with care to prolong their life.
“Bermuda Is Love believes that everyone deserves equal access to clothing, not only for practical needs but also for fostering self-confidence and personal dignity. Access to clothing empowers individuals to represent themselves authentically and take steps toward greater self-sufficiency.
“The Free Clothing Giveaway is made possible through generous donations from the community. Bermuda Is Love thanks everyone who has contributed to this initiative and invites the public to join the movement by volunteering, learning more, and supporting sustainable practices.
