BSSF Primary School Finals Preview

The finals have been set for the Bermuda School Sports Federation Primary School Football Championships to be held on Thursday at the Clyde Best Centre of Excellence.

A spokesperson said, “The Primary School Boys Division 2 final will see two west zone schools battle for the cup when Port Royal Primary will play West End Primary. Tayz Showers scored twice to lead Port Royal to a 3-2 victory over Prospect Primary in the semi final. Roman Bather scored the other goal for Port Royal while King Phillips and Zavion Trott scored for Prospect Primary. Cove Bailey was unstoppable scoring 5 goals to send West end primary to the final with a 7-4 victory over St. George’s Preparatory. Dennai Outerbridge and Massiah Baker scored a goal a piece for the West Enders. Kierra Broadley Samuels scored a hat trick for St. George’s Prep with Jahni Burch adding the fourth

“The Girls final will feature BHS and St. George’s Preparatory. Broadley-Samuels continued her scoring ways in scoring the winner in a 2-1 victory for St. George’s Prep. over Northlands Primary. Northlands took the lead through a Day’ah Dill goal in the first half. St. George’s scored early in the second half through Sahalie Outerbridge to draw both teams level. Broadley-Samuels sent St. george’s to the final with a brilliant goal after mazing through the Northlands defense.

“BHS ended Warwick Academy’s recent string of finals wins after defeated them 5-4 in a penalty shootout. Caroline Smatt gave Warwick a 1-0 lead midway through the second half when her powerful shot was too much for the BHS goalkeeper to keep out of the net. BHS would equailize a few minutes later when Ella Kent was fastest to equalize to Jordan Lewis’ saved penalty effort. Neither team could find the back of the net before the end of regulation.

“Somersfield Academy will face Warwick Academy in the Division 1 boys final at 3:00. Trevor Mills scored the games only goal to lead Somersfield Academy to a 1-0 victory over defending champions Saltus Grammar School. Six different scorers scored for Warwick Academy in their 7-0 win over Harrington Sound Primary. Sebastian Owen scored twice while Billy brogden, Jaden Waldron, Eoin Muirhead, Shammaah Darko and Daige Musson all scored for the Warwick school.”
