Harvey Cooper Award Launches Online Voting
The Harvey Cooper Award opens online voting for its inter-school art competition today, inviting the community to choose the People’s Choice Award while showcasing student artwork at BREW on Front Street.
A spokesperson said, “The Harvey Cooper Award has launched online voting today Dec 4th for its inter-school art competition, and is urging the community to cast a vote for the People’s Choice Award. The winner for high school will receive $1,000 and the winner for middle school will receive $100. Vote online at harveycooperaward.com.
“The Harvey Cooper Award is a middle and high school art competition for students aged 12-19. Each school picks students to represent them.
“The theme for 2024 is Unseen Bermuda, More than crystal clear water and pink sandy beaches, show the viewer an unseen side of Bermuda, our island home.
“This year’s judges are Dr Edwin Smith, Sharon Aaliyah Muhammed and Christine Wellman. The judges’ awards are first prize is $1,000, second prize is $500, and third prize is $250.
“Please stop by BREW on Front Street to look at the students’ artwork starting today Dec 4th. All artwork is for sale. The management of BREW has waived all commission fees, so the students can keep all the money from the sale of their artwork. Many thanks to BREW for providing the space to showcase local young talent.
“Winners will be announced on December 12th.”
