C35 Independent Candidate Christopher Bean

Christopher Bean will be an independent candidate for Constituency #35 Sandys North Central in the upcoming general election.

Mr. Bean said, “I am running as an independent candidate because I want to be a true voice for the people, free from party constraints. Having held management positions and witnessed Bermuda’s current state firsthand, I see how people are suffering and feeling neglected.

“Growing up in the community I aim to represent, I’ve been deeply involved in charitable endeavors, striving to make a meaningful impact. However, I believe that to create lasting change, it’s essential to have a sustainable legislative impact. As an independent, I’m able to consult with anyone without party pressure, voting based on my constituents’ needs.

“My brother is also running independently in the neighboring constituency, and together, we believe in restoring the unity and strength of our shared community.”

Constituency #35 Sandys North Central is currently held by the PLP’s Dennis Lister, who serves as Speaker of the House and is the longest serving Member of Parliament, having first been elected to Parliament back in the 1989 General Election as one of the two MPs for Sandys North under the then system of dual seat constituencies.

Since the one seat system started in 2003, Mr Lister has won the seat in all five General Elections with over 60% of the vote each time. Mr Lister will be standing for election again, and the OBA recently announced that Rodrae Durrant will be their candidate for the area.
