FDM Leader Marc Bean’s New Year’s Message

January 2, 2025 | 14 Comments

[New Year’s Message from FDM Leader Marc Bean] As we welcome 2025, it is a time for reflection—on where we are as a nation and the path we must take to secure our future. For too long, Bermuda has been burdened by rising costs and a government more concerned with maintaining power than addressing the needs of the people. This New Year offers us the opportunity to pause, reassess, and take steps to create a brighter future together.

What has held us back? Years of dependency, neglect, and mismanagement by so-called leaders have left Bermudians struggling to make ends meet. Opportunities have been eroded, economic control stripped away, and families forced to fight for survival. It’s time to break this cycle and advance with purpose and resolve.

For decades, Bermudians have endured promises without progress. Enough is enough. The Free Democratic Movement is charting a new course. We are committed to releasing sensible, comprehensive policies that address Bermuda’s most pressing challenges—because this is the leadership our country desperately needs. The era of selfishness, greed, and graft must end, and it begins with demanding accountability and prioritizing Bermudians.

2025 must be the year we take responsibility for our future. It must be the year we rebuild Bermudian ownership, open pathways for Bermudians to lead in every sector, and ensure the wealth of our nation is created and retained by those Bermudians who work to produce it. We cannot wait for the current leadership to change its ways. Saving Bermuda requires us—every Bermudian—coming together to demand and drive change. It’s time to end the struggle to survive and start thriving.

Now is the time to step up, register to vote, and play your part in shaping Bermuda’s future. The Free Democratic Movement stands ready to deliver a new direction for our country—one rooted in action, progress, the restoration of the people’s voice and trust!

The time for empty promises and excuses is over. The time to demand change and reclaim control of our destiny is now. After 20 years of struggle, it’s time for Bermuda to rise and prosper. To accomplish these goals, we must simply: Think right, speak the truth and do good.

Wishing you all a hopeful and transformative 2025

  1. Roger says:

Who? No room for a third party on a tiny island like ours.

The opposition should be united in getting rid of this terrible Government.

    • Joe Bloggs says:

Anyone who dares to challenge the PLP is personally vilified and publicly branded either a racist or an Uncle Tom. Good luck finding an effective opposition against those tactics.

      • Hilarious says:

        Well said!

How many white folks are in the PLP? Certainly not one Minister. Where is the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion? (sarcasm)

The spin required to win voters is to mirror PLP tactics and raise the bar. Out PLP the PLP.

        • hmmm says:

The OBA aka ubp has one playbook and everyone from all sides of the political spectrum knows it. Use black frontline surrogates to run as posters for a white established party.

          • Joe Bloggs says:

            “The OBA aka ubp …”

The OBA may be known as the “ubp” to you, but for the benefit of the rest of the world the UBP was dissolved in 2011. Please try to acknowledge that truth in the future.

            • hmmm says:

It’s known to everyone accept you, which is why the OBA aka UBP is losing the next election. Keep up with the 2 Bermudas and enjoy your retirement/RIP and loss.

      • Bingo! says:

Joey you just figured out the truth. You finally accepted that all those members and supporters from the UBP/OBA that left were nothing but Uncle Toms. Used because of their blk skin tone. Now you see why it’s 30-6. Don’t worry your UBP/OBA will win 10 seats next election.

        • Joe Bloggs says:

I have accepted that there is no effective opposition because the PLP will personally vilify and publicly brand anyone who dares oppose it either a racist or an Uncle Tom.

It is not my OBA. I have never been a member.

The UBP was dissolved in 2011. And it is 29 to 7, not 30 to 6.

I do wish your paymaster would pay you to keep up on events.

        • hmm says:

The ubp aka oba will change the name again or remove Jarrion as leader.

  2. Gerald says:

Stay true too you mr Bean dont join any of those other crooks!

    • Come Correct says:

Too Late he’s been begging for the OBA’s help but they turned him down.

  3. truth says:

He was part of the PLP Government and later their Radical Opposition Leader until they kick him out. If we vote for Bean Bermuda will be another Jamaica in 9 months.

    • Joe Bloggs says:

“If we vote for Bean Bermuda will be another Jamaica in 9 months.”

And if we vote for Burt what will we be? Another Zimbabwe?
