The Bermuda Snooker League returned with a bang, featuring the first round of the Tony Desilva Memorial Cup.
RAA 3 Sandys Boat Club 2
RAA edged the visiting Sandy Boat Club 3 – 2, Peter Bromby opened the scoring for Sandy Boat Club when he defeated RAA’s Aaron Bean 45-42 on the final black ball in the 1st of their 2 games together.
Keino Zuill equalised for RAA in the 2nd, defeating Sandy Boat Club’s captain, Martin Siese 51-30.
Paul Fedden put Sandy Boat Club back in front when he saw off Kyte Williams in the 3rd game 70-20.
Bean equalised once again drew RAA level, when he defeated Bromby 63-27 in the 2nd of their 2 games together, 63-27
With it all to play for at the doubles, it was RAA duo, Zuill/Williams who sealed victory for RAA, taking it 40-36 on the final black ball defeating Fedden and Martin Siese.
Spanish Point Boat Club One 3 Spanish Point Boat Club Two 2
It was bragging rights night at the Spanish Point Boat Club as the number one teams edged the number two team 3 – 2.
Richard Burton gave Spanish Point Boat Club Two an early lead, when he defeated Stewart Greenslade 56-53 on the final black in the 1st of their 2 games.
Spanish Point Boat Club One’s Todd Dziak leveled the score at 1 – 1 when he defeated Alan Smith 53-41.
Chris Dakin put Spanish Point Boat Club One in front in the 3rd game, defeating Spanish Point Boat Club Two’s captain, Tyler Moniz 57-43.
Richard Burton brought Spanish Point Boat Club Two level when he overcame Spanish Point Boat Club One’s captain, Stewart Greenslade, 49-34 in the 2nd of their 2 games.
With the doubles being the deciding factor, it was Spanish Point Boat Club One duo, Dziak/Dakin who snatched victory, taking it 51–26
Warwick Workman’s Club Two 4 Warwick Workman’s Club One 1
It was another derby this time at the Warwick Workman’s Club as the number two team defeated the number one team 4 – 1.
League newcomer, Henryk Marszalek, opened the scoring for Warwick Workman’s Club Two, when he defeated Warwick Workman’s Club One Keith Smith in the 1st of their 2 games 63-11.
Warwick Workman’s Club Two captain, Steven Bremar made it 2 – 0, when he defeated Gary Bascome 72-32.
Zane Desilva extended the Warwick Workman’s Club Two lead defeating Winslow Smith 64-37 in the 3rd game.
Marszalek made it 4 – 0 for Warwick Workman’s Club Two, when he defeated Smith in the 2nd of their 2 games 52-13.
Warwick Workman’s Club One duo, Bascome and Smith narrowly avoided the whitewash when they defeated Desilva and Bremar by a single point the final black ball, 43-42.
Tony Desilva Memorial Cup 1st Round
Aaron Bean defeated his RAA teammate and captain, Kenya Trott, 2 – 0 in their Desilva Cup 1st round clash at RAA.
Bean now faces the winner of Tyler Moniz and Keith Smith in round 2.
