Video: Candidates Christopher & Cire Bean

Christopher Bean and Cire Bean — who will be independent candidates in the upcoming election — are holding a press conference this morning [Jan 28]. We will have additional coverage later on and in the meantime the live video is below.

Christopher Bean is running in C35 Sandys North Central, which is currently held by the PLP’s Dennis Lister, who serves as Speaker of the House and is the longest serving MP, having first been elected back in 1989. Mr Lister will be standing for election again, and the OBA recently announced that Rodrae Durrant will be their candidate for the area.

Cire Bean is running in C36 Sandys North, which is currently held by the PLP’s Rev Emily Gail Dill, and will be a four-way race, with the OBA’s Carl Neblett and the FDM’s Shalleya Codrington also contesting the seat. Three of the four candidates have run against each other before, with a by-election held last year which was won by the PLP’s Rev. Dr. Emily Gail Dill with 162 votes, the FDM’s Marc Bean was second with 108 votes, Independent Cire Bean was 3rd with 95 and the OBA’s Carl Neblett was 4th with 91.
