Scott Barnes Chases Fourth Series Title
[Written by Stephen Wright]
Scott Barnes will be chasing his fourth consecutive Skusa Winter Series title at the Orlando Kart Centre in Florida this weekend.
The 40-year-old, competing in the Shifter Masters class for Maranello Kart USA, made a dominant start to his title defence last month, securing a clean sweep of victories in the first and second rounds at the same venue.
The third round will be on Saturday and fourth and final round on Sunday.
“I’ll be looking for another four wins [two pre-final and two final races] and claim another title,” Barnes told Bernews.
“It would be a great achievement to win four straight titles!”
Barnes continues to receive strong local support from sponsors Butterfield and Vallis [Powerade brand] and All Rise Limited.
“I’ve been lucky to have the support in recent years to allow me to compete overseas,” he said.
“I wouldn’t be able to do this if it wasn’t for the sponsors. A huge thank you to them.”
The Bermudian will start his Skusa Pro Tour title defence at the WinterNationals in New Caney, Texas, with rounds one and two set for March 28-30 at Speedsportz Racing Park.
“I might try and organise another overseas race between then and now,” he added. “It would be good squeeze another one in.”
