Phillips & Arizona Cruise To Victory Over DePaul
Daniel Phillips and his number 24 ranked Arizona men’s tennis teammates secured a dominant 4-0 victory over DePaul.
Phillips and doubles partner Tanner Povey were on the verge of clinching a win against DePaul’s Matteo Iaquinto and Marko Milosavljevic, leading 6-5, when Arizona’s other doubles pairings secured the crucial point, handing Arizona the early advantage.
Moving into singles play, Phillips faced Milosavljevic. He won a tight first set 7-6 but was trailing 2-4 in the second when Arizona clinched the overall match victory, bringing the contest to a premature end.
