‘They Arrive: Remembering The Enterprise’
The Department of Culture’s special edition of Creatives Live! will feature a free historical walking tour on Tuesday [Feb 11] that ”will explore acts of rebellion and resilience throughout Bermuda’s rich history.”
A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Culture presents a special edition of Creatives Live! featuring a free historical walking tour titled ‘They Arrive: Remembering the Enterprise [and Other Stories of Resistance].’
“Taking place on Tuesday, 11 February 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, this unique experience curated by Kristin White of Long Story Short, will explore acts of rebellion and resilience throughout Bermuda’s rich history.
“The tour will begin at Barr’s Bay Park and continue through various key sites in the city. Attendees will engage with local guides, artists, and activists who will bring the island’s past to life through powerful storytelling, performances, and readings.”
Encouraging the public to attend, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports Owen Darrell said: “This immersive journey commemorates the anniversary of The Enterprise, a significant moment in Bermuda’s history that underscores the enduring spirit of those who fought against oppression. Through an interactive experience, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the struggles and triumphs that have shaped the island’s cultural and social landscape. Whether you are a history enthusiast or a curious explorer, this event promises to be both enlightening and inspiring.
“This tour is a chance for us to reflect on the resilience and courage of those who came before us. By walking these historic paths and hearing these stories, we honour their legacy and deepen our understanding of Bermuda’s history. I encourage everyone to take part in this meaningful experience.”
