CURB To Host Tag Days On March 21 & 22
Citizens Uprooting Racism in Bermuda [CURB] will host their annual Tag Days on Friday [March 21] and Saturday [March 22] in observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
A spokesperson said, “This important initiative aims to raise awareness and generate vital funds to support CURB’s ongoing anti-racism and restorative justice initiatives.
Advancing Racial Justice in Bermuda
“CURB remains committed to fostering a more just and equitable Bermuda through education, dialogue, and community engagement. Over the past few years, the organization has expanded its outreach, ensuring individuals of all ages and backgrounds have access to transformative programs and critical conversations.
“Some of CURB’s key initiatives include:
- The Black History in Bermuda Timeline, now present in every school, sparking essential discussions on racial history and justice.
- Lunch & Learn sessions, fostering open conversations on race, privilege, and systemic discrimination.
- Student Leadership Conference, empowering young leaders with the knowledge and skills to address racial justice issues.
- Truth & Reconciliation Community Conversations, fostering open and honest dialogue on race, history, and healing.
- Reparations focus groups, advocating for policies that promote racial healing and equity.
- Collaborations with nonprofits and corporations, creating partnerships that drive meaningful change.
How to Get Involved
“CURB invites individuals, businesses, and organizations to participate by making donations during our TAG Day initiative. We will be located at several businesses across the island, providing an opportunity for the community to contribute directly to the fight for racial justice. Volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the success of this initiative, and we are deeply grateful to those who have already signed up to support this effort.
“We also extend our heartfelt thanks in advance to the community for their generosity and participation on Friday, March 21st, and Saturday, March 22nd. Your support helps sustain our mission and drive meaningful change in Bermuda.”
