Sisters Launch ‘Island Care Bermuda’ Business
Sisters Dr. Annisha Peets and Dr. Ayesha Peets Talbot have launched Island Care Bermuda, a “service dedicated to helping individuals and families find vetted, reliable caregivers for their children, elderly family members, pets, and homes.”
A spokesperson said, “The inspiration for Island Care comes from the personal experience of the two sisters as they navigated the challenges of securing reliable and trustworthy care for their grandmother as she aged. As the sisters grew their own families, they quickly realized the difficulty of finding qualified caregivers who could provide the care their family needed, all while balancing busy professional lives and raising young families of their own.
“Dr. Annisha Peets is a social worker who holds a PhD in clinical psychology while Dr. Ayesha Peets Talbot is a local physician specializing in integrated medicine. Dr. Annisha Peets has worked at the Department of Child and Family Services [DCFS] for nearly two decades and therefore, had intimate knowledge about challenges with ensuring safe care for vulnerable populations.
“These women have seen firsthand, both personally and professionally, how difficult it can be to find good care for loved ones. As mothers of school-age children themselves, they understand how overwhelming it can be to juggle work, family life, and the search for reliable caregivers.”
“Our grandmother’s care was a top priority for us, but it wasn’t easy to find someone we could trust to provide the level of attention and support she deserved,” said Dr. Ayesha Peets Talbot. “We often found ourselves juggling our careers, family life, and trying to arrange reliable care. It was a struggle we wished could be simplified.”
The spokesperson said, “Recognizing the need for a more efficient, dependable solution, the sisters set out to create Island Care Bermuda. Their goal is to streamline the process of connecting families with caregivers, making it easier for those in need of help to find the right support quickly and easily.”
“At Island Care, we understand how hectic life can be, and we recognize the importance of finding suitable caregivers,” said Dr. Annisha Peets. “We wanted to create a platform that would eliminate the stress of searching for reliable care, offering a more straightforward and transparent approach for people seeking help. Whether you need assistance with childcare, elderly care, pet sitting, or home services, we are here to simplify your search for trustworthy caregivers.”
The spokesperson said, “Island Care Bermuda prides itself on its commitment to providing thoroughly vetted and highly skilled caregivers, ensuring peace of mind for families across Bermuda. The service helps families by offering a seamless process that saves time, reduces stress, and connects people with dependable professionals who can meet their unique needs.”
“We are grateful for the trust our clients place in us, and we are excited to offer a service that will make a difference in people’s lives,” said Dr. Ayesha Peets Talbot. “Our mission is to ease the challenges that come with finding care and to provide a solution that helps families feel confident in the support they receive.”
The spokesperson said, “This month, in honor of Women’s History Month, we will launch the registration process for Caregivers. We welcome caregivers to start a new profile and upload their resumes and credentials including Certifications, CPR certificate, Police Background Checks. In April 2025, individuals looking for care will be able to search the platform for babysitters, child caregivers, senior caregivers, pet sitters, housekeepers etc. Searches can be made using the website or downloading the mobile app for more on the go convenience.
