Rodrigues And Vieira Compete For Eckerd
Bermudian sailors Paul Rodrigues Jr and Jordan Vieira faced a challenging day on the water at the recent Bob Bavier Open Team Race in the Charleston Harbour in South Carolina.
The event, hosted in the Cooper River, started at a manageable ten-plus knots from the southwest, but steadily increased, reaching nearly 20 knots.
Rodrigues and Vieira, representing Eckerd College in St Petersburg, Florida, faced stiff competition from a strong field of collegiate teams.
They finished tenth overall, recording two wins and 16 defeats.
