The evening’s action began with a commanding performance from Appleby, who cruised to a 6-1 victory over Positive Image Dental. Appleby wasted no time in asserting their dominance, racing to a 2-0 lead in the first period courtesy of goals from Israel Guzman and Jeff Morash.
Positive Image Dental managed to pull one back through Craig Rowat just before the buzzer, offering a glimmer of hope.
However, Appleby extinguished any hopes of a comeback in the second period, with Guzman netting his second of the night to extend their lead to 3-1.
The third period saw Appleby unleash a flurry of goals, with Rob Osborne and Adrien Fauche joining the scoresheet, sealing a convincing win.
Hamilton Princess 3 BDA Spirits 6
The nightcap delivered a more closely contested affair, as BDA Spirits overcame Hamilton Princess 6-3 in a goal-fest. Robbie Bailey opened the scoring for BDA Spirits in the first period, giving his side a slender 1-0 lead.
Hamilton Princess responded in the second period, with Riley Latour leveling the scores. However, BDA Spirits then shifted gears, scoring four unanswered goals to take a commanding 5-1 lead. Jean-michael Tremblay, Bailey, Ben Wilshaw, and Sean Mcnulty all found the net, putting BDA Spirits firmly in control.
Latour completed a hat-trick in the third period, scoring two more goals for Hamilton Princess, but Tremblay added his second of the night to secure a 6-3 victory for BDA Spirits.
