Bermudian Couple To Launch Relocation Guide
Sara Schroter and Paolo Odoli — who recently moved from Bermuda to Italy – have used their experience to create a practical guide for anyone planning an international move, with the ‘Operation Relocation Workbook’ set to launch on April 16th.
A spokesperson said, “Moving abroad is an exciting adventure, but it comes with challenges. For Bermudian expats Sara Schroter and her husband, Paolo Odoli, the journey from Bermuda to Italy was filled with excitement, uncertainty, and countless hours of research. Now, they’ve transformed their experience into a practical guide for anyone planning an international move—the Operation Relocation Workbook, set to launch on April 16, 2025.
“A move that meant leaving behind friends, family, and the comfort of home in Bermuda, the family decided to embrace a new life in Northern Italy. Learning a new language, navigating bureaucracy, and learning a different culture brought both rewarding moments and unforeseen challenges. Through trial and error, they developed a structured approach to break down the complex relocation process into manageable steps—an experience and approach that forms the foundation of their workbook.”
“Our move was about more than just changing locations—it was about embracing new opportunities while honouring the connections we left behind,” said Sara Schroter. “We quickly realized how overwhelming it can be to compare locations, understand visa requirements, and manage all the logistics. We wished we had a resource to organize everything in one place—and that’s why we created Operation Relocation.”
The spokesperson said, “Designed for expats, digital nomads, retirees, students, and professionals, the workbook offers a clear, step-by-step framework to guide individuals through the relocation process—from selecting the right destination to settling in with confidence. For the Government, as well as local businesses and organizations working to attract new residents to the island, the workbook can serve as a practical resource to share with prospective newcomers as they begin their research and planning.”
Paolo Odoli added, “During the planning and execution phases of our relocation we really dug deep into our different life and career experiences [Military and Legal] to chart a course for which we didn’t have a guide or an action plan to refer to.
“I hasten to add, that this mission could not have been achieved without the kindness, patience and generosity of our friends and family.”
The spokesperson said, “To celebrate the launch, the couple are planning a special event that will be held in Bermuda at the end of June, where Paolo and Sara will share insights from their experience, answer questions about relocating, and introduce the workbook to the local community. Event details will be announced soon.
“The Operation Relocation Workbook will be available in paperback on Amazon [16th April] and IngramSpark – with the initial focus on North America and the UK. Follow @oprelocation on Instagram for updates, tips, and behind-the-scenes insights into the launch.”
