Somerset Primary Egg Drop Challenge
Somerset Primary School students participated in their annual Egg Drop Challenge yesterday [April 16].
Students displayed their creativity by wrapping raw eggs in various packaging to protect them from cracking after being dropped from a fire truck’s extended ladder into the playground.
The youngsters had to plan and analyse how best to ensure their egg survived the fall from a height of 70 feet.
Some of the packages had parachutes attached to them to help cushion their fall.
Unfortunately for Angela Edwards, the school principal, her egg was among those that did not survive the drop.
