Ming And MacGuinness Win Junior Races
[Updated with full results + video] Hasim Ming and Naomi MacGuinness have been crowned the boys’ and girls’ champions of the Heritage Day Junior Classic today [May 23].
Ming won the boys’ race, crossing the finish line in 11min 31sec, with Nathan Foster Skelton second [11:49] and Gomez Caines third [11:56].
Ming, who won the race for the first time, said: “I started out strong and had to catch myself. There were a lot of good runners out there.”
In the girls’ race, MacGuinness secured victory in 11:59.
Colette Durkin was runner-up [12:21], with Evelyn Fahy third [12:28].
MacGuinness, a three-time winner, said: “It feels good [to win] because I was injured [hip] leading up to the race, which made it harder.
“It was much more humid this year. It made the course a bit harder.”
