Aeolus Capital Management donated a solar panel system to the Bermuda Football Association, which they said is expected to save approximately $5,332 worth on electricity in its first year and over $200,000 during the next 30 years, with the company noting this will allow the BFA to “redirect funds from utility expenses to its core mission, supporting local football programs.”

A spokesperson said, “Aeolus Capital Management is proud to announce its latest solar energy project in support of the Bermuda Football Association [BFA]: the donation of a state-of-the-art solar panel system that will reduce the BFA’s carbon footprint and significantly cut long-term operating costs.

“The newly installed solar energy system, expertly designed and implemented by BE Solar, features 20 high-efficiency 430-watt solar panels paired with 20 Enphase microinverters.

“This clean energy system is expected to generate approximately $5,332 worth of electricity in its first year alone, reducing the BFA’s electricity rate to just 13 cents per kilowatt-hour and saving an average of $444 per month. Over the next 30 years, the system is projected to produce 310,986 kWh of electricity and save the BFA an estimated $232,024.

“This transformative gift from Aeolus Capital Management allows the BFA to redirect funds from utility expenses to its core mission: supporting local football programs and nurturing the next generation of Bermudian athletes. The project is already making a measurable impact. Since activation, the BFA’s system has prevented 2,000 lbs of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.”

BFA President Mark Wade stated, “The Bermuda Football Association is eternally grateful to Aeolus Capital Management for their gift that will keep giving for the next 30 years. Additionally, we want to thank BE Solar for their expert and efficient installation and service. Through this one initiative, we have reduced our carbon footprint and will realize meaningful yearly cost savings. These savings will allow us to redirect funding where it matters most, on the football pitch. We are humbled and excited to be a part of “Team Green”

  • “Family Centre: 39.2 tonnes of CO2 avoided since installation in March 2021
  • “WindReach: 38.6 tonnes of CO2 avoided since installation in November 2021
  • “Bermuda Red Cross: 8.7 tonnes of CO2 avoided since installation in May 2024″
