Christine Bogle-Mienzer has been named the BNA 2025 Nurse of the Year in recognition of her exceptional dedication.

President of the Bermuda Nurses Association [BNA] Dr. Karen Grant-Simmons said, “To the BNA Nurse of the Year nominating committee, it is indeed a pleasure for me to nominate Christine Bogle-Mienzer for BNA 2025 Nurse of the Year.

“I have known Christine for a few years as a person with a shining personality who greets everyone with a smile. She exemplifies everything it means to be a nurse: professional, compassionate, advocate, and dedicated to caring for patients, staff, and students. I met Christine when she was a staff nurse in the surgical ward. She was kind, courteous, and caring towards the patients.

“The level of care was outstanding, particularly supporting patients and families during their time of need. She was a nurse who led by example, mentoring staff and students by setting high standards of excellence. Christine’s journey in the nursing profession led her to become a nursing supervisor and then a clinical manager for Curtis Ward. She is surrounded by amazing nurse managers in the Long Term Care units who support each other in their initiatives to improve patient outcomes.

“In service to the community, Christine has been an active member of the Bermuda Nurses Association, serving on the executive board, and continues to support the association during their activities. She is also a member of the BPSU, serving on several committees, including Community Outreach and the Women’s Committee, of which she is the Chair. Christine is a part-time member of the Bermuda College Nursing and Allied Health team.

“As a clinical instructor, she is passionate about the future of nursing in Bermuda. She provides clinical experiences for the students to learn firsthand the steps to building a strong foundation by making connections between theory and practice in nursing. I believe Christine can achieve more in the nursing profession.

“Whatever path she chooses, I am sure she will excel. She brings her heart and soul into nursing, and for that reason and more, she deserves to become the next BNA Nurse of the Year. Thank you for your time and consideration in choosing the best Nurse for the esteemed Nurse of the Year award.”
