Scott Barnes Claims Podiums In Cincinnati
Karting driver Scott Barnes claimed a pair of podiums at the Skusa Pro Tour SpringNationals in Cincinnati at the weekend.
Barnes, the Shifter Masters class defending champion, was declared the winner of the opening final race on Saturday – round three of the series – after the initial race winner Scott Presti was disqualified following a protest after a collision with Barnes.
The Bermudian came runner-up in the second final race yesterday [May 25] – round four of the series.
Barnes, who came second in both pre-final races, wrote on social media: Good weekend in Ohio! Double podium weekends.
“Pro Tour are always good. Field wasn’t as big as we wanted and Sunday’s results weren’t what we wanted, and made some bad changes that’s on us.
“But overall, a good points weekend that put us back in the Championship hunt going into the last rounds in July.”
Barnes, who races for Maranello Karts USA, is sponsored by Butterfield & Vallis, representing their Powerade brand, and All Rise Limited.
