It was the first time Barnes has competed the entire three-round series.

He won both heat races, the pre-final and the final.

“We came, we saw, we dominated and we got Championship,” Barnes wrote on social media.

“It rained all night [before the final race], the track was still wet, and they made a call that it was your choice whether to went out on slicks or wets [tyres].

“We were the first class of the day. We took a gamble and went out on slicks on wet track.

“The guy we’ve been battling of series [Cole Matthewson] went out on wets and pulled away to a 22 second lead.

“Halfway through, the track dried up, the slicks kicked in, and we ended up picking him down and taking the win.”

Barnes races for Maranello Karts USA and is sponsored by Butterfield & Vallis, representing its Powerade brand, Simpsons Motorsports and All Rise Limited.
