Netball: BNA Summer League Results
The Bermuda Netball Association’s summer league continued with three matches at Bernard’s Park, featuring competition in the women’s and co-ed divisions.
In the sole women’s division match, Phoenix Flames defeated Lady Stars 27-18. Eshe Grant led Phoenix Flames with 14 goals, while Uni Simmons contributed 9 goals, and Jaya Dillas added 4. Caillia Joel was named Phoenix Flames’ best attacker, and Eshe Grant was the MVP. For Lady Stars, Julesa Robinson scored 9 goals, Marissa Brangman had 7, and Kim Thompson scored 2. Chiaje Rudo was named Lady Stars’ best defender, and Kacee Simons received the MVP award.
The co-ed division began with Bean Counting Netballerz securing a 21-16 victory over Front Street Mafia. Jahkenya Trott led Bean Counting Netballerz with 13 goals, Jahtuere Trott added 7 goals, and Denise Truter scored 1. Osei Agyapong was named best defender, and Allison King was the MVP. For Front Street Mafia, Charlotte Evans scored 10 goals, and Jasmine Mapp added 6. Kyle Godfrey was recognized as their best attacker, Jason Savoury as best defender, and Ciara Izzy as MVP.
In the final match of the evening, Goal Diggers defeated Storm Chasers 31-19. Zhanae Simmons led Goal Diggers with 10 goals, Paul Simons scored 6, and Coriah Simmons added 3. Cecoy Robinson was named best attacker, and Rakeem Deshields was the MVP. For Storm Chasers, Antione Williams scored 24 goals, Nabiilah Nasir had 5, and Zakiyah Durham scored 3. Zariah Amory was named Storm Chasers’ best attacker, and Debre Evans was their best defender.
