Michael Dunkley Receives CBE At Windsor Castle
Michael Dunkley has officially been appointed Commander of the British Empire, attending a ceremony in the United Kingdom.
The former Premier received the honour in the King’s 2025 New Year’s Honours List, where he was recognized for his services to Bermuda.
Mr Dunkley told Bernews, “Truly humbled and honored to be appointed as a Commander of the British Empire [CBE] by His Majesty King Charles and to receive the honor at Windsor Castle yesterday by His Royal Highness Prince William.
“I am truly blessed to have served Bermuda for over 27 years in Parliament and as 12th Premier of Bermuda. I served because I care and did all I could to help during my tenure in politics. While I have retired I will still do all I can, and when asked, to help our island.
“It was an amazing day under sunny skies at Windsor Castle and I was pleased to be able to spend it with some of my family; wife Pamela, daughter Brooke, son in law John Michael Nixon and granddaughter Olivia Belle.
“Thank you to those who nominated me and thank you Bermuda for your support. Be assured I will continue to do what I can for our people and island.”
Brilliant Michael.
