Whitney Institute Middle School and Warwick Academy recently held their first Archery fun shoot competition.

A spokesperson said, “Mr. Damon Watson [WIMS] and Coach David Semos [W.A.] collaborated and brought this brainchild into fruition with the support of both administrations from Warwick Academy and Whitney Institute.

“There were 11 enthusiastic participants who eagerly stepped up and took part in this historic event. 5 students from WIMS: Shanae Chambers, Jediah Outerbridge, Andrew Hayward, Sabrina Lombard and Nai-Indae Jones and 6 students from Warwick Academy: Luca Alvera, Conor Ferguson, Salem Jackson-Smith, Diana Villamarin, Lara Patterson and Bram Wiseman.

“As each round unfolded the participants skillfully demonstrated a keen eye, steady form and unflinching accuracy throughout the duration of the tournament.

“The pleasure could be seen on the faces of the participants as the competition came to an end. In fact, without a doubt this would not be the first nor the last archery competition for students. The event ended with medals being awarded to: Lara Patterson, of Warwick Academy [1st place], Andrew Hayward of Whitney Institute Middle School [2nd place] and Salem Jackson-Smith of Warwick Academy [3rd place].”
