CariGenetics is sponsoring Olympic long jumper Jah-Nhai Perinchief, providing  ’comprehensive health insurance coverage’ and ‘advanced wellness genetic testing to enhance his training, performance, and overall well-being.’

A spokesperson said, “In a bold move to champion Bermudian excellence on the global stage and during Men’s Health Month, CariGenetics proudly announces its official sponsorship of Olympic long jumper Jah-Nhai Perinchief, OLY.

“This multi-year support is designed not only to provide comprehensive health insurance coverage but also to equip Jah-Nhai with advanced wellness genetic testing to enhance his training, performance, and overall well-being.

“As one of Bermuda’s top Olympic medal hopefuls and ranked 19th in the world according to the World Athletics.org, Jah-Nhai has consistently represented the island with pride, passion, and resilience—often without the full support or sponsorship athletes at his level deserve. With no existing health insurance coverage or major sponsorships, CariGenetics is stepping in to ensure he has access to the tools, resources, and healthcare necessary to focus fully on training and competition.”

“Jah-Nhai exemplifies the spirit of Bermuda—resilient, gifted, and determined,” said Dr Carika Weldon, Founder and CEO of CariGenetics. “We believe it’s our responsibility to support those who carry our flag and dreams with them. This is not just about sponsorship—this is about legacy, community, and unlocking the power of science to support our athletes in new and meaningful ways.”

The spokesperson said, “As part of the partnership, CariGenetics will provide Jah-Nhai with personalised genetic wellness testing, aimed at optimising his fitness, nutrition, and recovery regimens based on his DNA. This testing is in collaboration with Apex Physio, led by Craig Brown, who will help Jah-Nhai implement his personalised training strategy on the road to the 2028 Olympics.

“In addition, CariGenetics has initiated conversations with other local partners to expand this support model to other elite athletes representing Bermuda internationally, with the aim of building a robust and sustainable support system that eliminates barriers and encourages high-level performance without the burden of financial insecurity.

“This initiative reflects CariGenetics’ ongoing commitment to health equity, science-driven innovation, and community empowerment—not just in the lab, but on the field, track, and global stage.”
