Fresh Air Films ‘Sunset Cinema’ On June 21
The City of Hamilton announces the return of Fresh Air Films: Sunset Cinema on Saturday, June 21, featuring Mufasa: The Lion King and Captain America: Brave New World.
A spokesperson said, “The City of Hamilton is excited to announce the return of Fresh Air Films: Sunset Cinema, a beloved summer tradition that transforms Barr’s Bay Park into an open-air theatre under the stars. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, promising an unforgettable evening of king-sized adventure and high-stakes heroism—completely free to the public.
“To enter the event, simply present a receipt showing a minimum $25 purchase from any City of Hamilton business, dated between May 1 and June 21, 2025. If you’d like to stay for both films, two separate receipts are required.

“With sweeping views of the Hamilton Harbour as a backdrop, moviegoers can enjoy two of the year’s most anticipated blockbusters:
- 6:30pm – Mufasa: The Lion King [Rated PG]
- 9:00pm – Captain America: Brave New World [Rated PG-13]
“Gates open at 5:30pm, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure the best spots. Enjoy interactive games before and between the films—with great prizes up for grabs! Guests should bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and a healthy appetite—food and snack vendors will be available on-site throughout the evening. Attendees are also encouraged to pair their movie night with a meal at one of the City’s many restaurants, either before or after the screenings.”
