Aeziah Divine Produces Best Display In UK
Motorcycle racer Aeziah Divine produced his best display in the R&G British Talent Cup after securing his first championship points in the third round of the series at Snetterton, Norwich, at the weekend.
The teenager, who races for British team Fibre Tec Honda, initially crossed the line in fourteenth position; however, following post-race penalties issued to other riders, he was elevated to eleventh.
Divine, who qualified in 21st place, wrote on social media: “l didn’t have the best start off the line, but l worked hard to make up some positions at turns two and three.
“While leading my group, I pushed on to close the gap to the two riders ahead of us, taking our group from four to six riders.
“A few riders in our group were messing each other up, leading the group to break up.
“We continued changing positions with a close drag to the line where I crossed just ahead of another rider to secure P14 and my first championship points!
“However, after some post-race penalties, I took P11 in the end!
“Massive thanks to my incredible team for giving me an amazing bike and setup.
“That race was probably the most fun I’ve had racing in the class to date. We had some great battles and I’m really happy with the result.”
Divine competed in race two on Sunday, finishing in eighteenth.
“I started from P16 on the grid but struggled a lot at the start of the race as l kept getting shuffled to the back due to so much battling that was happening within our group,” he wrote.
“Unfortunately, that slowed our group’s pace down a lot, causing us to lose touch with the group ahead.
“Near the end of the race, l fought back to make up a few positions and held it to the flag where I crossed the line in P18.”
