Beach Volleyball Teams Compete In Mexico

Bermuda’s national beach volleyball teams faced a challenging opening day at the fourth stage of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour in Mexico, with both pairs recording two losses in pool play.

In the women’s competition, the team of Megan Hands and Natalie Gazzard fell 2-0 to Cristina Almeida and Amber Bennet of the U.S. Virgin Islands. The match scores were [21-14, 21-7]. In their second Pool C match, Hands and Gazzard were defeated 2-0 by Canada’s Devin Corah and Alicia Thibodeau [21-8, 21-12].

On the men’s side, Kyle Hamilton and Connor Somerville also went winless in Pool C. They lost their opening match 2-0 to Colin Lash and Dylan Devecseri of Canada, with scores of [21-7, 21-14]. The Bermudian pair was later defeated 2-0 by Nicaragua’s Rubén Mora and Denis López [21-11, 21-8].
