BEDC City Hall Lawn Meet-And-Greet SSEP Bermuda July 2025

“The Summer Student Entrepreneur Program [SSEP] is an eight-week program designed to develop young Bermudians into the Island’s next wave of entrepreneurs. The program, which started on July 1st, allows participants ages 13–23 to learn practical business skills such as earning revenue, creating a business plan, conducting SWOT analyses, and much more.

“The SSEP is not just about learning business skills; it also emphasizes the importance of community engagement and real-world experience. By participating in events like the Meet & Greet, students gain firsthand knowledge of what it takes to operate a business and interact with customers. This holistic approach ensures that students are well-prepared to continue their entrepreneurial journey beyond the program.”

“As we reach the midpoint of this program, it has been great to watch the students grow in confidence and develop their business skills. Their enthusiasm for applying what they’ve learned, especially pitching and sales, in real-world scenarios is clear. This meet-and-greet is an important opportunity for them to showcase their businesses and connect directly with the community,” says Deshun Simmons, Program Coordinator.

He continues, “We encourage the public to join us, meet the students, learn more about their businesses, and show your support. Your encouragement truly impacts their journey as entrepreneurs.”

The spokesperson said, “The public is encouraged to come out to City Hall this Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to support these young entrepreneurs. By attending, community members can directly contribute to the growth and confidence of these young business owners, helping to foster a vibrant local economy.
