CG Wraps Up Summer Internship Programme
CG Insurance has concluded its 2025 Summer Internship Programme, with interns Benjamin Jones, Olivia Dunleavy, Sara Costa, Sydney Mason, Ryley Mason, and Ty’Esha Smith taking part.
A spokesperson said, “CG Insurance has concluded another successful year of its group-wide Summer Internship Programme, which spanned six jurisdictions including Bermuda, Cayman, The Bahamas, Barbados, Trinidad, and Jamaica.
“Locally, the interns selected for this year’s programme were Benjamin Jones [IT], Olivia Dunleavy [HR & Marketing], Sara Costa [Risk & Compliance], Sydney Mason [Legal], Ryley Mason [Clinical-Medical], and Ty’Esha Smith [P&C].
“For eight weeks, the interns immersed themselves in an authentic and comprehensive professional experience designed to mirror the pace and purpose of CG’s professional environment. This year’s programme once again highlighted CG’s commitment to fostering young talent and investing in the communities it serves.

“Interns worked across a wide range of departments, benefited from mentoring by CG professionals, participated in educational sessions led by company leaders, and engaged in meaningful community service. A cornerstone of the programme is the Group-Wide Intern Project, which unites interns from all participating islands to tackle a complex, real-world challenge.
“Working as a fully independent, self-led team, the interns research, develop, and ultimately present their solutions to CG’s executive leadership, gaining hands-on experience in cross border collaboration, critical thinking, and professional presentation. Each year’s project explores a timely issue facing the insurance industry. Past cohorts have tackled topics such as attracting and retaining the next generation of decision-makers, leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance customer experience and profitability, and designing flexible, forward-thinking insurance products.
“This summer, the focus turned to fraud in the insurance industry, with interns examining areas such as detection, prevention, and client education to deliver regionally informed recommendations.”

The spokesperson said, “Each office also hosted its own tailored intern experience, including community volunteer days and in- person development sessions on topics such as financial literacy, ESG, career branding, legal compliance, and cyber security. Whether presenting to executives, supporting their departments, or engaging in team building activities, each intern had the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and build lasting skills.”
Tyesha Smith, Bermuda’s Property & Casualty Intern, said, “Working on the group wide project has allowed me to be able to further develop my skills, create global connections, and gain hands-on experience into a real epidemic worldwide, that will help to shape my career path. This internship has acted as a vital first step in helping me determine my career goals.”
