Squash: Junior CASA Results Day Five

Bermuda’s promising squash players continued their campaign on day five of the Junior Caribbean Area Squash Association Championships in the Cayman Islands.

In the boy’s team event, Trinidad defeated Bermuda 21-12, with Seth Thong defeating Andrew Cox 11-3, 11-4, 11-4 in the boys’ under-19 division.

Trinidad further increased their advantage when Anthony Allum defeated Eli Carpol 11-5, 11-5, 11-5 in the boys’ under-19 division.

Bermuda managed to get on the scoreboard in the boys’ under-17 match, with Owen Rosorea defeating Matteo Felician 9-11, 11-7, 11-9, 11-5.

However, Trinidad extended their lead in the boys’ under-15 division as Ross D’Juran defeating Mason Smith 11-2, 11-3, 11-4.

Bermuda’s Benjamin Sherratt secured a win, defeating Vithala Chattergoon 11-3, 11-5, 11-7 in the boys’ under-13 division.

The boys’ under-11 division match went the distance, with Trinidad’s Evan Ghuran defeating Kaiden DeSilva 9-11, 11-6, 11-7, 8-11, 11-7.

The Bermuda girls’ team faced an even tougher challenge, losing 30-3 to Barbados.

Barbados took the lead in the girls’ under-19 division, as Gabrielle Turchiaro lost to Eboni Atherley 11-1, 11-4, 11-2.

Tyler Komposch was then defeated in the girls’ under-19, falling 11-6, 12-10, 12-10 to Sarrayah Yearwood.

Barbados’ Lenna Hamati was pushed hard by Somers Stevenson in the girls’ under-17 division, winning a tight contest 4-11, 11-2, 11-6, 10-12, 17-15.

In the girls’ under-15, Mckenna Kyme was defeated by Olivia Watts 6-11, 11-3, 11-6, 11-6.

Finally, Taylor Kyme was defeated 11-3, 11-6, 11-6 by Morgan Daniel in the girls’ under-13 division.
