Somersfield Academy 5K Fun Run On Sept 28
Somersfield Academy invites the community to lace up for its second annual 5K Fun Run on Sunday, September 28 — a family-friendly event supporting the school’s growing athletics and PE programmes.
A spokesperson said, “Somersfield Academy is excited to announce its second annual 5K Fun Run, taking place on Sunday, September 28, 2025. The event promises a day of fitness, family fun, and community spirit — all in support of the school’s expanding athletics and physical education programmes.
“The Fun Run will feature a range of race options for all ages and fitness levels: a 5K run/walk, a 1-mile run, and a 400m dash for younger participants. Last year’s community race drew nearly 300 runners and walkers from across the island. This year, the goal is bigger: to raise funds that will enhance PE programming and continue the school’s recent athletic momentum.
“In 2024, Somersfield Academy made school history by capturing four championship titles in inter-school sports netball, badminton, and basketball. These victories have ignited a renewed focus on developing athletic excellence and lifelong fitness habits among students.”
“We’re incredibly proud of what our students accomplished last year,” said Kristen Scott Ndiaye, Development and Marketing Manager. “As a team, we decided that The Fun Run would be a great celebration of that success and a stepping stone toward even greater athletic achievement.”
